We have recently designed this replacement swimming pool for a house on the edge of Wandsworth Common. A new extension to an existing basement contains the indoor pool, which opens up via large glazed panels onto the rear sunken garden, and internally onto the gym area of the house.

A key feature of the design is a curved ceiling, and a linear roof-light flooding the pool with daylight and sunlight at certain times of the day. At night time discrete background lighting will provide a different mood for night swimming.

At upper level a new terrace will be created with an outdoor dining area, new soft landscaping and access stairs down to the lower garden.
