Briarwood Road, Clapham

This Edwardian terraced property in Clapham, LB Lambeth, has been significantly reconfigured and remodelled throughout ground, first and second floors to a high standard creating a luxurious modern home.  A contemporary basement was added, creating a generous kitchen and dining space to entertain family and friends. The basement incorporates innovative timber wall panels which conceal storage as well as doorways.

Two light wells to the front and rear of the basement ensure both direct sunlight and daylight penetrates deep into the plan.  The light reflects across the polished concrete floors, creating a wonderfully bright space even on an overcast winter’s day.

As well as the creation of a new basement, a rear extension was built with modern glazing supplied by Clement Windows. This included a double height, steel framed window providing direct access to the courtyard at the rear of the property. The transparency created allows the living space to blend seamlessly into the outside terrace space.

Internally the layout was completely reconfigured. On the first floor a grand Master Suite was created to the front of the property, complete with en-suite and walk in wardrobe. Additionally, a snug library space was created overlooking the rear garden.
